Sacrament of Orders

Please notify the Parish Office or use the Emergency Pager number when a parishioner is seriously ill at home or in the hospital so that the seriously sick may receive Communion and/or be anointed. This is a Sacrament of healing and hope, so please do not wait till a loved one is almost dying. Call us when someone is seriously ill or may be going in for some major surgery. This way, the sick can also participate in the church's prayer for healing and anointing. We have several Pastoral Care Ministers who regularly take communion to the sick and the homebound. We care - especially when you are sick and in need.

Anointing of the sick expresses the Church's nature as a healing community. Most of the Church's caring for the sick is done by ordinary Christians in their own homes and in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. In the sacramental rite of anointing, Christians gather to celebrate and experience the healing love of God. It is a special way of perpetuating Jesus' ministry of healing the sick and of continuing the early practice of the Church (James 5:14-15).
