Transfiguration
Catholic Community is a parish where every member has gifts that
are important to the lives of the other members of the community
and the world.
If we look
back to the time of Jesus, we find that the community he formed
was not just a group of people to which he ministered; he invited
them to share in his own ministry: "As the Father has sent me, so
I am sending you." The very reason and purpose of this community,
as with any other parish, is to carry out that mission of Jesus
in our own time. Through parish life, we come to pray together,
to proclaim the Good News, to speak out and act for justice in a
wounded society, to heal and reach out to one another and to the
larger community in love and support.
Each of us
has been given great gifts - gifts of time, talent, and treasure.
We are not owners of these gifts, but stewards called to share.
One of the ways we respond to this call to share is in our model
of leadership. Transfiguration is living out a model of collaborative
ministry with a Pastoral Leadership
Community, a Finance Board and a Pastoral Staff of ordained priest
and professional lay women and men.
Through interaction
with all the facets of parish life, our leadership provides direction
and vision to respond to the needs of our parish community, our
neighborhood and several ecumenical and global issues. We invite
you to call the Parish Office
or e-mail us with any questions or in response to the invitation
of becoming part of Transfiguration, a Community of Communities.
